ABOUT

Ashley Brown is a creative based in Austin. She started hand-sewing when she was a kid after being taught by her mom. Through home-ec courses and pre-college courses through her high-school, she learned to sew on a machine. It gave her a hard time at first (the hardest of everyone in the class according to her instructor) but she loved it so much she kept at it. At the end of that year she participated in her program's fashion show. The moments leading up to it were so stressful but seeing her garments go down the runway filled her with so much pride. The way she couldn't stop smiling confirmed she had to pursue it even further.

She ended up at a school in San Francisco on a track scholarship and graduated with her bachelor's degree in fashion design. After she graduated she started sewing for herself and not long after she vended at her first market for The Slow Fashion Fest. Since then she’s sold her pieces at markets and collaborated with various artists all around Austin.

Ashley loves creating stories within her work and in the naming of each piece. She also enjoys creating content, planning projects, designing and producing collections, and staying curious about pop culture. In her free time, she likes to rock climb, bike, run, and lift.
